Leslie was very communicative . She and her husband assisted my parents getting inside and connected to wifi. I very much appreciate their hospitality and kindness. My parents were very pleased with the wonderful accommodations. Will definitely stay again.

We absolutely loved staying here for a quick girls weekend before my bestie gets married next weekend! Leslie’s place was gorgeous and so cozy. And her cats were the cutest and friendliest welcoming committee ever haha! Definitely hope to stay here again in the future!

We had the most wonderful stay at the Carriage House in Valle Crucis! Carriage House looks like it could be on the cover of Southern Living or Country Home Magazine—spotless, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable for our family of three. Exploring the property was such a joy. Our toddler loved visiting the chickens, meeting the goats (Vincent Van Gogh and Gandalf the Gray), and spotting deer right on the grounds. The short walk to the granite cliffs with sweeping views of the river and valley was simply breathtaking. We also loved how close it was to High Country attractions—our favorite being Tweetsie Railroad Amusement Park, and Otter Falls Trail, a beautiful, family-friendly hike that ends at a waterfall with shallow pools. This retreat truly has it all: charm, comfort, and adventure. We can’t wait to come back and highly recommend it to families or anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable mountain getaway!

Had a great stay at Shulls Farms. Leslie was super proactive and gave us info we needed for a great stay. Very peaceful location and easy to get to Boone and other locations in the area. If my son decides to attend app state this will be one of our go-to places to stay when we come visit.

This is the perfect spot for a visit! We came to see my daughter for family weekend at App., she is a freshman so this was all new to us. The cottage was perfect, close enough to App. but far enough for some privacy. We felt safe and at home. Leslie was wonderful at responding and answering any questions that we had. We loved the goats and other animals that came to visit. I will definitely come back and stay again!

My husband and I loved this place!
The carriage house is very lovely and the farm animals so sweet. We loved the back deck and the walk to the river to fish was a pleasant. Highly recommend!

The setting is beautiful with a scenic walk behind the barn. The carriage house is modern and quaint with great amenities. The hosts were fast to respond to any requests.

We stayed in the upper carriage house, and found it to be a peaceful, comfortable retreat. The house is fully stocked with everything you need. We loved watching the three angora goats and petting the friendly cats.
Leslie is friendly, welcoming, and super responsive. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway close to downtown Boone and Banner Elk, this is the perfect place.
